Israel-Indonesia Futures – Challenge 2

ISRAEL-INDONESIA FUTURES PROGRAM

CHALLENGE 2:

ESTABLISHING INNOVATION EDUCATION & TRAINING CENTER IN BALI

This Indonesian family-run international investment group has a portfolio composed of leading businesses spanning 3 continents and 9 countries – including Australia, USA, China, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. Its companies span the sectors of manufacturing, distribution, transport, real estate, and technology.

Challenge:

Indonesia’s current education climate is characterized by a growing market of keen learners facing hurdles in systems not well incentivized, poorly funded with deficits in human resources. This causes problems in transitioning students from secondary education into lucrative and practical avenues of higher education –  forcing students to seek employable degrees overseas.
CHALLENGE
The company has a plot of land located in Bali, totaling 5 hectares of space, approximately 45 minutes from the airport.
CHALLENGE
Their vision is to create a world-class higher education and training facility that doubles up as an impact and innovation hub – serving Indonesia and Southeast Asia –  that will cater to jobs of the future.

Due to the high mobile internet penetration in Indonesia, they are also interested to explore new ways in which they can combine technology with physical spaces.

Team Deliverable:

The team assigned to this challenge will develop a business plan for this initiative. This will include detailed studies of the global competitive landscape, name and branding opportunities, financial modelling including alternate strategies, methods for maximizing return on investment and social impact to local communities, as well as development and marketing strategies.
