Ronit Gruper

Israel

Ronit Gruper is currently completing her M.A. in Non-Profit and Community Organization Management at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. During this time, Ronit was working in the office of the Mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, writing speeches and assisting in the coordination of activities.

Ronit’s passion for Korea started when she was obtaining her B.A. at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She majored in English Literature & Korean Studies, and spent a year on an exchange program at Yonsei University in Seoul.

Since then, Ronit founded her own Korean food company – Hansik – and manages a food blog, in addition to offering cooking classes and catering at events. In June 2018, Ronit participated on a panel on an Israeli television show dedicated to the historic meeting between U.S. President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, where she shared her experience preparing Korean dishes.

Ronit hopes to learn more about Israel-Asia relations and with that knowledge, she wants to educate youth about the importance of these alliances. Ronit aspires to continue to grow her food business and introduce more Israelis to the wonders of Korean culture and food.

During her military service, Ronit served in the recruitment office where she was responsible for interviewing and for helping candidates with learning disabilities.

Previously, Ronit was involved in musical and cultural institutions. She was the manager at the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival and the office-manager at the Ein-Kerem Music Center.
