Paprika is a 2006 Japanese animated science fiction film about a research psychologist who uses a device that permits therapists to help patients by entering their dreams. Directed by Satoshi Kon, the film received several domestic and international awards and nominations.

Director Satoshi Kon (1963-2010), was a Japanese anime director and manga artist from Hokkaido, Japan. He was a member of the Japanese Animation Creators Association. Other films directed by him include “Perfect Blue”, “Millennium Actress”, “Tokyo Godfathers” and “Paranoia Age

Prof. Miki Daliot-Bul of the University of Haifa gave an introduction about the film and the director at the event.

This event was part of the fellowship project of 2011-12 Israel-Asia Leaders Fellow, Naoto Umezawa.
